About Buddy vs. Duff
Food Network's celebrity cake war put Buddy Valastro and Duff Goldman, the two biggest names in American cake, head to head in a season-long series of enormous themed builds. It plays less like a cooking show and more like a demolition derby of sugar, rice cereal treats, and structural engineering, with two masters of an absurd craft refusing to give each other an inch. The fun was never the suspense; it was the scale.
The format
Each episode both bakers and their teams build a giant showpiece cake to a brief, scored by a judging panel, with scores accumulating across the season. Whoever holds the higher cumulative total after the finale wins the season.
The prize
No cash prize; each season is decided on cumulative judges' scores for the title and bragging rights
