About Cake Wars
Cake Wars assembled one of the most technically credentialed judging tables Food Network ever gave a cake show: a Manhattan couture wedding-cake master on one side and a fine-dining pastry chef on the other, so nobody could skate on decoration alone or taste alone. Every episode's winning cake headlined a real pop-culture event, which kept the stakes pleasantly concrete. It only ran three years, but its judging still holds up as the genre's gold standard.
The format
Teams battle through a Batter Up opening round and a full Cake Off build, judged on construction, flavor, and fit for the episode's real client event. The winning team takes $10,000 and delivers its cake to the event.
