About Halloween Baking Championship

Every October, Food Network asks a bracket of bakers to make things that look like a horror movie and taste like a patisserie, and the tension between those two goals is where all the fun lives. Severed-finger cookies, haunted gingerbread, monster cakes: the brief is creepy, but the judging never lets flavor slide. The locked-in modern trio of judges has one of the best rapports in the genre.

The format

Bakers face a smaller opening challenge and a main heat each episode, with one contestant eliminated per week until a champion remains. The winner takes a $25,000 prize.
