About Nailed It!
Netflix's great inversion of the genre: instead of hunting for the best amateur bakers, Nailed It! recruits proudly terrible ones and asks them to recreate elaborate showpiece cakes anyway. The gap between the glossy example and the lopsided, half-melted result is the entire show, and Nicole Byer's sports-commentator narration of each collapse makes it one of the funniest series on the platform. Underneath the chaos, Jacques Torres quietly teaches real technique by explaining exactly why everything went wrong.
The format
Three home bakers face two challenges per episode: Baker's Choice, a recreation of a simple treat, and Nail It or Fail It, a two-hour attempt at a genuinely complicated showpiece cake with a Panic Button that buys three minutes of judge assistance. The closest recreation wins the episode and $10,000.
